Draw gives Ballymac Jones edge in The Jasper Carrott Sprint at Perry Barr
The June-10 son of Kinloch Brae, Ballymac Jones, is famous for his marvellous work in sprints. The brindle dog has got another opportunity to prove his mettle, as he is due to appear in the Jasper Carrott Sprint, taking place at Perry Barr on Friday, October 12th.
His supporters don?t need to get worried because of the recent trouncing over four bends. Just look at Ballymac Jones? last couple of efforts over 277 metres, and you will be fascinated.
Ahead of jumped up to 460 metres, C. Evans? charge performed wonderfully in the sprints. On his latest short-distance venture, the dashing hound was second to Tolerton Dasher. Despite getting crowded at the second bend, he managed to ensure a notable place.
The dog?s last win hit the headlines on September 13th, when he took an easy triumph over Fleetwood Benji. An early pace helped the big fellow take lead at the second bend, and he retained advantage until the finishing line. As a result, he grabbed the first place by a length?s distance.
The skilful hound is likely to resume his winning journey on his return to this distance. Among his rivals are: Funworld Boy, Greenlough Ball, Rushmoor Andy, Droopys Moss and Highfire Jack. As per the schedule, the ?200 event will be commenced at 19:47 GMT.
Funworld Boy is another to watch out for. C. Price?s charge faced an early exit from Belle Vue?s Showsec Scurry Cup, but that does not take anything away from him. The blue and white dog is well capable of putting up a fantastic show in a race of this nature.
Rushmoor Andy is coming off a good win. But he cannot be backed just because of the previous form, as this is a tougher test. Droopys Moss cannot afford to miss the kick.
Greenlough Ball was recently denied in quest to complete a hat-trick. His latest defeat at Nottingham would prevent the punters from supporting him. Highfire Jack appears to have a bit to find with these.
